EOP ASSIST 2.0 Software
A Software Application for K-12 Schools, School Districts, and State Agencies
EOP ASSIST 2.0 is the REMS TA Center’s recently updated software application designed to help schools create and update high-quality school emergency
operations plans (EOPs) that are customized to address a range of threats and hazards. This application, available to users free of charge, walks users
through the six-step planning process—as recommended by the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency
Management Agency, the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services—to develop
a downloadable school EOP.
As a web-accessible software application, EOP ASSIST 2.0 is intended to be installed locally on a state agency, school district, or school server,
and made accessible via a designated web address to practitioners who are responsible for developing and/or reviewing school EOPs. Before emergency
planners may begin using EOP ASSIST 2.0, the application must first be installed by Information Technology (IT) personnel at your state agency, school
district, or school. Installing EOP ASSIST 2.0 on a local server will provide users with complete control over the privacy and security of their school EOPs.
EOP ASSIST 2.0 includes a number of software updates, including:
- New state-level users and state hosting capabilities;
- Enhanced management features and functions for state agencies and school districts; and
- Expanded technological compatibility to accommodate both MySQL and MS SQL Server database systems.
For information about how to use EOP ASSIST 2.0, please read the EOP ASSIST 2.0 User Manual.
Additionally, the REMS TA Center has prepared a PowerPoint presentation, "An Overview of EOP ASSIST", which practitioners
may feel free to use to introduce EOP ASSIST’s features and functions to their respective stakeholders. Furthermore, please visit the EOP ASSIST Discussion Forum on the
Community of Practice (CoP), which is a space for current and potential users to share their feedback, exchange ideas, and/or pose questions.
